Studies
Interior Studies
An extension of the studio practice rather than a portfolio of completed projects. These studies place paintings within imagined architecture to explore perspective, scale, colour, atmosphere and the spatial relationship between a canvas and the room that holds it.
Every environment shown here is conceptual, an interior visualisation, not a built or completed residential project.
Interior Studies, Plate 01
Architectural Planes
Folded rooms and shifting perspective, the geometry works held against wall, stone and long horizontal furniture.

Interior Studies, Plate 02
Ochre and Ember
Warm-ground canvases, doorways, corridors and city walls carried in yellow, orange and burnt earth.

Interior Studies, Plate 03
Tondo
The circular works, which ask for a wall of their own and a single low light above.

Interior Studies, Plate 04
Gold Leaf
Metal-ground paintings, surfaces that hold candlelight and change through the evening.

Interior Studies, Plate 05
Atmospheric and Tonal
Quieter fields of blue, lilac and white, works for rooms that are already still.

Interior Studies, Plate 06
Yacht Design
Paintings held within a yacht saloon, long low horizons, lacquer, bronze and evening sea light. Scale and framing studied against a moving interior.
